Banned for being disingenuous and showing extreme lack of empathy

stupidity, human nature, idiocy, offensive, dumbass

Yes – apparently that’s me!

How? Because I told someone that they could delete their post, and said that I took a screenshot – when they twice said in the same post they were going to delete their post on social media.

Ahhh… but there is context, you see. The individual was ‘opening up about their mental health’, so saying “You may delete your post if you wish. I’ve taken a screenshot.” – becomes harassing, disingenuous and extremely unempathic. But wait – the response to the moderators suspending me for my misdemeanour is then labelled as “conspirational nonsense“. Oh wait – I’m a “complete weirdo“. But..but.. that’s a perfectly ‘professional’ thing to say to me, obviously!

Evidence below – I managed retrieve the post after deletion and being banned. [Some are unable to figure out how to click a mouse on an image]

What I thought

I saw the commenter referring to their history and that they had improved. I really cannot imagine a reason I would want to be nasty to the commenter. But my view is not important.

I was only expecting the post to be deleted as the commenter said twice they were going to delete it. I was genuinely expecting the post to be deleted soon, so I wanted to keep a screenshot of it. Letting the commenter know meant that they could proceed to delete it any time now. Apparently – that’s “disingenuous“. I doesn’t matter what I thought – what matters is what those in power think I thought. Who has the power? The crowd. They do their speed-read of what I wrote – couldn’t spend the time to read what the commenter said – and decided, “Nope – that’s wrong! Thumbs down and report.

The moderators’ minds were obviously influenced. The evidence is that they too didn’t have the time to read for context.

I could never have imagined that a simple line of text would lead to such perceptions, turned into facts. What is fact these days? Well, appearance and perception are facts in the new world order.

What does it mean to me?

  1. Facts mean nothing.
  2. Evidence means nothing.
  3. Nobody reads and understands context anymore.
  4. Nobody has time to inquire about context.
  5. Emotions are everything.
  6. GenZ, GenY and GenSnowflake are now on steroids!
  7. Perception is fact. If a person believes they could sprout wings and fly – that’s fact!
  8. What I think is unimportant.
  9. What the crowd thinks is most important.
  10. It’s an increasingly dangerous world out there.

Caution: The above are my thoughts and sentiments not just in relation to one episode, but arise from having tracked a number of similar issues on social media.

I am now seeing – in the last five years – that intelligent and supposedly professional people have had their minds twisted by social media patterns of thinking and behaviour. I dare to call it out – well in advance of any research on this sort of thing. I’m I overconfident? I am just confident – and moreso in the last few years – that when I spot a pattern the researchers come along 10 to 20 years later and say the same things I was saying.
