Observations on the world and its inhabitants
It’s the name of a book! In the event that you don’t know Dr Bo Bennett, you are expected to jump on the net and start Googling madly. After all, you don’t know who’s who in this world – and everybody out there is a guru of some sort – right? I mean – like ...
I’m pretty sure some will be jumping on the net to read up what cliché means. Nobody is getting a dissertation here today. To start off net-crawlers, go here to read up. The one that has been getting to me more in the last 2 years is ‘.. to be fair‘. Every time I hear ...
Some have never heard of NXIVM. Obviously they were too busy on the likes of Facebook and Instagram or whatever is more popular these days. For those not stuck on LameFlix or don’t have a dog to bathe immediately, pick up the background by a quick read of this. I mean quick because videos are ...
This is gonna be a shorter one. Yep it is about that mug in the photo below. So a few days ago I bought this mug, I think it was from Home Bargains for £1.59. I didn’t want anything expensive because it was for use at work. After a couple days of use, I looked ...
Yep. That’s what I was told in a real FTF conversation tonight 2021-09-04 between 20:00 and 21:20PM. Some must wonder why I even engage in those kinds of discussions. Well, I discover how the average human being thinks. It is stupid basically – the patterns of thought – and the gross disregard for the rules ...
From an online forum is the following. DB: Well done! What is a blaeberry?! CW – replying to DB: For those who don’t know howto – select word with mouse, right click, then click search option that appears. For those who don’t know how to select text: left click mouse, hold it down and move ...
As some will know, I’m very fond of creating mindmaps and flowcharts. I think they provide a very flexible way of looking at how things flow and interact. Sometimes I’m not sure of how exactly my ideas would come together. So, I’d put them into a mindmap and move things around or add stuff over ...
As usual I’ll start with what investment means. Loads of people will have jumped to thinking of £ or $ signs instantly, I just know it. Investment in the context of this post means putting in some effort, time or work and getting some advantage out of it. The advantage could be in monetary terms ...
In your youth you enjoy a song for the way it sounds. Across many songs from the 70s and 80s, I realise that I had not paid much attention to lyrics. In my later years I discover much deeper meanings. I now pay attention to the ‘words’. The 80s was a most amazing period. Of ...
This is gonna be a shorter one. Who are these liars? They are none other than my so-called friends and almost non-existent family! Mostly on a weekend, I do my blogging and send links to others. The emerging pattern is: Quick response. Some comment that shows they have done the speed-read job i.e. say something ...
Lately I’ve been thinking about ‘support’. As always I ask, “What does it mean?” What do people think it means? What people don’t consider in providing or receiving support is that it can be dysfunctional or destructive. The reasons why the latter are almost never considered or weighed in the balance, are: A macro-cultural view ...
Lots of people make decisions that are driven by emotions, and wrapped in emotion. Just to be clear, I’m not saying that such decisions are necessarily wrong. It is well known from Damasio’s research that emotions are an activator of some sort. Whilst emotions can drive actions and decisions, decision-making does not have to be ...
This is not an academic exploration of what manipulation means. Read that again. You don’t get a ‘balanced perspective’. You get unbalanced originality. If you don’t like that bugger off now! The trouble with words is that people want perfect definitions. The reality is that, it is rare for words like manipulation to have a ...
Most Westerners will not have heard of the Bhagavad Gita or even read anything from it, or about it. If I then say, “It’s a Hindu text,” that then leads a proportion of Westerners to go, “Never heard of it.. I’m a Christian.. I don’t have time for this.” Brilliant! How? Such reactions will prove ...
Well, I often post up situations I encounter as a sort of diary which then forms evidence for my patterns of thinking. Scenario This one was at a hotel A. There was some confusion on a Sunday night when I needed to check in. I had 5 nights which I accidentally double-booked for the following ...
For those who don’t like Sci-Fi, kindly move on NOW! I’m not giving time to grumbles. I began looking at older Sci-Fi films recently, as I’m fed up with modern Sci-Fi and other films that just lack an interesting story line. Passengers was one exception. The Matrix was a blockbuster movie that came out in ...
Strangely enough in the last few weeks, I was looking at how people ended up at the wrong airport. Yuh know, Gatwick instead of Heathrow etc. Well, what’s prompted this post is a new one! Yeah – this is where you (not me) end up at the right airport on the correct day of the ...
As some will know, I have conversations with an imaginary character called Stupid. I haven’t explained much about Stupid before now. The particular features of Stupid: The above is not a full list, of course. How did this character develop? Over the years I’ve heard so many stupid utterances from people, that I have had ...
The word ‘future’ has important meaning to human beings. I’m not about to do a thesis on what the word ‘future’ means. Look up for estimated reading time, if you have a dog to bathe. And I’m not interested in whether any particular reader has a dog or not! Definition A popular definition is to ...
The topic is a very big one. It is about how people repeat actions that lead to futility. If you don’t know what futility means find a dictionary and read up. If you can’t read, what are you doing here? Futility But what is futility? It is not just a hopeless situation. My classic example ...
As the title says, this is an exploration of ‘down sides’. If you wish for a balanced perspective, move on now! I mean now! What do I mean by electronic media? I mean all forms of electronic communication and interaction e.g. emails, text (sms) messages, online banking, video conferencing etc etc. Overall these forms of ...
I was fortunate to interview Andrew Gray. Instead of viewing the 1 hour video, some will be jumping on Google to see if Andrew Gray is a person of any importance. Then they’ll go, “Who he? Never heard of him. He’s not Elon Musk.” This is how most people are – and I say it like ...
Let’s get down to business – ‘only conspiracy theorists like conspiracy theories.‘ That’s what I’m told. Those who are labelled as conspiracy theorists are labelled away and marginalised with a number of adjectives e.g. deranged, demented, fantasists, paranoid, delusional. And of course, the words ‘conspiracy theorist’ are enough to make, people to look away. Lots ...
What people want is a simple answer that will put them back on a track that they should have been on. I’ve seen it before and I’ve seen it today 13th June 2021 again, between 17:45 to 18:10PM. In essence someone who referred to me as a ‘friend’ – and I am not their friend ...
This is England. They speak English over here. It is the national language. I live in England. I grew up speaking English in another land. It is my only language. I then spend over 30 years living in England speaking the English I knew from another land (that was an English colony), but learned some ...
In other posts I’ve looked into various errors of thinking. However, I have not actually looked deeply enough into what thinking is. So I’m thinking about thinking. Most people think that, “It’s what humans do.” Some also think that animals think. I’ve often wondered about that because I’ve seen cats do some interesting things, which ...
In general people say that they value the truth. However, when a would-be truth is unpalatable or does not fit with their individual values or knowledge-base, it is not allowed. I’m speaking in general of course, so unable to cater for obvious exceptions. The word ‘truth’ has become closer to what individuals and large groups ...
The way most people will answer the question is like – ‘Well it depends…‘ or ‘They may help some people but not everybody‘. And that right there represents the market for people who will more than likely purchase self-help books (SHB). Now calm down – I’m not saying that SHBs are bad. This post will ...
For many years I’ve been referring to the power of the herd instinct. Nobody believes me of course – because I am a NOBODY! That’s fine cuz I don’t need people (the herd) to validate what I might say or think. History proves me right. In essence when people take a position or attitude about ...
In conversations with people, I often hear the following kinds of statements: I’m just not motivated to do [blah blah]. I know I need to do it. It is the right thing to do but I don’t have the discipline. I’m not organised. Maybe as time catches up I’ll find the energy. I’m a creative ...
